Then Astrid and Jan Øystein started the trip from Lillehammer and the trip towards Os via Ålesund, but then a stop at Åndalsnes Camping for the night. But we had a stop with good friends at their cabin in Lesja. There we were offered their house for accommodation in Ålesund, so we went there. Very nice friends and a slightly shorter drive for us tomorrow.

Then we are loaded to get ready for the trip down to Os outside Bergen. This was also a longer trip than intended as we had to use many tunnels and ferries. But we were in good spirits and the trip was pleasant in good weather. We arrived on the boat in the evening and after a long drive for Bente and Arnfinn, Astrid and Jan Øystein, the evening was spent relaxing and getting the cars/motorhome in place :-).

Then Arnfinn starts with the electrical on board, while Jan Øystein starts to install the anchor windlass in the bow. Our ladies start by foiling hatches on the galley and wc, as well as a proper wash of the boat.

8-9.07.2023

The day starts the same as the day before, as we wait to get carpenter Daniel Helmers on board. After a while he is also in place and demolition of the cabins in the stern is under way. Arnfinn continues with the electrics and has found a new place for the battery bank. Which makes it easier for the rest of the crew to deal with any problems later on.

Interior lighting has also been installed, while the electrical up to the steering position is in order.

Arnfinn has done a great job and the crew is pleased.

The rest of the day is spent on dinner and being with the crew and grilling.

After a few hours of sleep, we wake up to a storm that we didn't have yesterday with up to 29 degrees. Today the trip goes to Bergen to experience life at the fishing port. Eventually we will get to Bergen with a little less rainfall, and it will be a great trip for all of us :-). Now the nightmare begins on this trip when we decide to drive towards Voss and the Lærdalstunnel, but very soon the queue piles up after the tunnel and exit national highway 7 disappears in the tunnel opening and it comes to an abrupt stop. The end is to turn around and drive the long narrow road at number 7, this will be a long trip for us as we meet trailers/buses/motorhomes and a whole forest of camping tourists (Absolutely terrible) but we are in good spirits.

Later in the evening we get more updates about the road and that a large stone has fallen on the road. They had reopened the stretch of road approx. 19.30, by which time we were already on our way to Geilo. The trip was longer than we had expected. We were home in Lillehammer around 01.30.

Now we get to plan what will happen before the next and last trip to Western Norway.

Now we have arrived at a very nice guest harbor in Tananger Guest Harbor. We came in this afternoon with the engine stopped and only one outboard without a dinghy, due to safety measures on board, the crew chose to call the RS Lifeboat for safe assistance.

07.08.2023

Today it is reported between 10 - 25 m/sec and the choice was very clear.

We decided to stay till the wind died and await the engineer tomorrow to look at the main engine on board.

14.08.2023

Today Astrid and Bente each went on a sponsored trip around Lillehammer, this was a very pleasant day for Peace for Europe. They received sponsors from, among others, KIWI with 15 fruit baskets to be delivered to various children's departments at the Lillehammer hospital, the Lillehammer Crisis Center and Lillehammer Health Center during the week.

17.08.2023
